Here's some more information about adopting a greyhound from Kerry Greyhounds UK

We take hounds from a variety of different situations, some come from different rescues in Ireland, some come to us directly from greyhound trainers in the UK. We will also take dogs that are on 'death row' in various pounds around the UK and very occassionally we will take sighthounds from Spain or Romania..

Nearly all our greyhounds are good with children (over 8 and with adaquate supervision), and/or older people, and with other dogs so we do not say that about each one. If a particular dog is not good with other dogs we will say so on the individual dogs profile. Some greyhounds can also live with cats.

Most greyhounds will need some housetraining as they have usually lived in kennels all their lives. They usually pick this up quickly and we can give you some advice about housetraining if you need it.

Greyhounds love to live with another dog for company, particularly if their owner goes out to work. If you would like to talk to us about homing two dogs together please contact Bronwen for a chat about this.

All our dogs are neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. They all have a full veterinary check when they come in to us and they often have dental work if their teeth are in poor condition. We ask for a donation to go towards the costs of getting the dogs ready to go to their new homes.
