Adoption Process
![Belle](images/websiteimages/Shannon.jpg)
We are dedicated to finding the very best forever homes for retired racing greyhounds.
We provide ongoing support and encouragement to all of our families and hounds.
|
If * RESERVED * is under a dogs name this means someone has made a
enquiry about that particular dog and we are checking out the home
offer. But please do still contact us if the dog you are interested in
is on hold for someone else. If you can offer a loving home we can put
you on reserve in case that home offer doesn't work out, and if it does,
we can find another dog that's right for you. There's always lots of beautiful
and needy greyhounds looking for their special home. All our dogs are neutered
(except pups which are too young, then adopters need to agree to have this done),
vaccinated and most are microchipped. If you'd like to know more about our procedure to
adopt a greyhound please click on the Adoption Process link to the left.

Location: : Currently in a foster home in Norfolk.
Key Points: Thunder is good on the lead and travels well, she is happy, friendly and good around other greyhounds.
~ Personality ~
Thunder is a very friendly and affectionate girl a real softie who loves cuddles. She has a gorgeous face, a really pretty girl.
~ In the Home ~
Thunder has recently moved into a foster home in Norfolk. We will update on her progress once she has had the chance to settle in. New owners will need to be a bit understanding at the start and give her time to learn the house rules. It generally takes greyhounds 10-144 days to start to settle in a home, and really all they need is time and patience.
~ Other Animals ~
Thunder is really well behaved around other greyhounds but hasn't met any small dogs yet so care must be taken with introductions. She is currently sharing his kennel with another greyhound without any issues.
~ Out and About ~
Thunder travels well and is very good on a lead. She will be content with two 30 minute walks a day and perhaps a chance to stretch her legs off-lead in a safe area as she really enjoys a good off lead run.
~ Greyhounds as Pets ~
In general Greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family environment, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the retired. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.
~ Where Can I Live? ~
Thunder would fit into most family environments and would like a quiet family that will help her with her ongoing training and socialisation. She would love someone to be ay home most of the time to help her settle into home life, another laid back male greyhoud woud also help her. Once settled she should be fine to be left for up to 3 hours. Please be aware that we do not home dogs to families with children under 10 years of age.
~ Where Am I? ~
Thunder has recently moved into a foster home in Noroflk.
~ Want To Adopt Me? ~

Larry
Larry is a beautiful brindle/tri-coloured male lurcher, who sadly has had a rather sad start to life, being abandoned and ending up in the local dog pound. He was on death row as his 'time was up' at the pound and as he was still unclaimed he faced euthanasia unless we could take him into our care. We just couldn't let this beautiful young dog, who is just a babe at 1 year old, be pts. He has so much love to offer the right family or couple but will need experienced lurcher owners to guide him and teach him the ground rules. Please feel free to call us for an informal chat if you feel Larry could be your new family member.

for details.
Location: Larry is currently in boarding kennels in Norfolk until a foster home or his forever home is found. Larry would love a foster home while he waits for his forever family. We are very stuck for foster homes right now, so any help that you can give at all would be hugely appreciated.
Key Points: Beautiful boy, loves everyone, playful, happy, friendly, loves to give cuddles good in the car, dog friendly.
~ Personality ~
Larry loves people and very affectionate and happy. He loves nothing more than to gently wrap his front legs around your waist and gives you a wonderful cuddle.
~ In the Home ~
As far as we know poor Larry has not been in a home environment before, so he will need ongoing training and ground rules set. He adores company and did we mention his love of cuddles?
~ Other Animals ~
Larry is good with other dogs that he has met both at the boarding kennels and on his walks.
~ Out and About ~
Larry is good in the car and travels well. He is good on the lead, unless he sees rabbits or squirrels, so a non-pull harness would be advisable for walks in the countryside.
~ Where Can I Live? ~
Larry would fit into most families but would prefer someone to be around most of the time to guide him with toilet training and giving him the time to settle and show what a special boy he is. We feel he would benefit from living with another dog who can help to show him the ropes. Please note that you will be required to travel to Norfolk to meet and collect him. Also, please be aware we do not home to families with children under 10 years of age.
~ Where Am I? ~
Larry is currently waiting patiently in boarding kennels in Norfolk. If anyone feels they could foster Larry to help him on his journey to a forever home please give us a call for an informal chat. It is an extremely rewarding experience and all costs are covered by us.
~ Want To Adopt Me? ~
Larry is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, deflead and wormed. A home check will be required as part of the adoption procedure.
